Monday 10/24/2016: Cy Young winners announced
The American League Cy Young winner was announced today, with Boston's right-hander Juan Ibanez taking home the desired trophy. He certainly earned it, he struck fear into hitters all year long. Juan has a record of 16-5 this season, with an ERA of 2.17. In 241 Innings he was able to strike out 250 batters. He's 1st in the American League in ERA and 4th in wins! Ibanez wins the award for the 5th time in his 14-year career. Numbers Wargo will never forget this year. His dominating season convinced the National League to name Philadelphia's right-hander the Cy Young winner of 2016. His ERA of 2.16 helped him to a 24-1 record this year. He struck out 195 and walked 73 in 208.1 innings. He's 3rd in the National League in ERA and 1st in wins!
